Schedules are extremely flexible. You can skip pickups, add pickups or change your entire schedule. Please have all schedule changes into the office by noon of the day before the pickup.
Service locations available are: 1) Backdoor (behind the house; in the garage), or, 2) Roadside (five feet from the street with no obstructions).
A "single pickup" is: 1) Two barrels (up to 45-gallons each with a 30-pound weight restriction per barrel including contents), or, 2) One 95-gallon toter barrel ("tote"). Double pickups, triple pickups, etc., are available.
By default, accounts are set up with "measured" service (all trash is taken and charged in multiples of our "single pickup" rate). Drivers’ will have the final say regarding extra fees. If you would rather have "restricted" service (where you are limited to a pre-specified maximum amount of trash, with overages left behind), let us know.
"Emergency runback" service is available when time allows. The fee is your regular pickup charge plus $45.00 for the runback.
Toter barrels remain the property of William R. Coffin & Sons, Inc. Unreturned or lost toter barrels may result in an additional charge for replacement.
Service can be canceled at any time.
The following cannot be mixed with ordinary trash: batteries, tires, building debris, yard materials (leaves, etc.), mattresses, appliances, furniture. Special arrangements can be made for removal. Please call. Also, hazardous materials (oil, paint in liquid form, etc.) cannot be taken. Watch for town-sponsored hazardous waste collections.
Routes start at 7:00 a.m., so please be ready. During the summer season (approximately June 15 through September 15) starting time moves to 6:00 a.m.
We do not work on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years' Day (watch your statements for when these days will be rescheduled). All other holidays are picked up at their regular time.
Payments may be made by check, money order, or credit card. Please enclose a complete payment slip with your payment, if available. Sending a payment with a partial of missing payment slip requires extra handling and could delay the scheduling of your service. Automatic payments can be made with a valid credit card on file. Payments are also accepted through PayPal.

RECYCLING PROGRAM
The following programs are voluntary:
Newspapers: Tie your eight to ten inch high bundles of newspapers with string both lengthwise and widthwise. This will keep the bundles from blowing apart. Newspapers can be put out any day you have a regular pickup scheduled (but, if you could avoid rainy days, it would be most appreciated).
Glass, Plastic, Metal, Clean Cardboard (packing boxes): There is a fee for this service. Mix these into one of our recycling toter barrels (either 32-gallon or 95-gallon). Minimum schedule of once-per-month.
SEASONAL ACCOUNTS
Customize your statement to cover only the dates you need and send in the appropriate payment. Service will not begin until your schedule and payment have been received. If you have automatic payment with you credit card, we still need a proper schedule. As the season progresses, changes can be made if needed. Also, if you're moving your barrels, calling to let us know avoids a lot of confusion.
If you are renting and your schedule is uncertain, please remember this: 1) You can schedule unrented dates and forget to call us later to skip those dates (thus the dates are covered), or, 2) You can not schedule dates, rent those dates later and then forget to call us to add those dates (leaving your tenants with no service). The smart choice is the first choice.
SEASONAL "TUESDAY & SATURDAY" or "SATURDAY ONLY": Available Memorial Day through Columbus Day. Service begins at 6:00 a.m. Only available in Harwich. A higher rate applies. "SATURDAY ONLY" requires a minimum of 4 barrels or 2 totes per pickup.
"On call" service is available for off-season pickups. Call as you require pickups. It is suggested you leave a small deposit to cover "on call" service (i.e.: 5 pickups' worth).
No credit can be given for pickups already attempted. If you don't want service to start until later, just tell us.
Barrels will be returned to the location where they are found. If you have tenants, make it clear to them where this location should be.
Statements for overages on "measured" service or "on call" service will be sent out the first of every month. Remember, all rebills are subject to a $15.00 rebilling fee, so please remember to pay on time or send a small deposit to avoid rebills altogether.
